Direct Latex reagent test
Useful in the diagnosis of rheumatoid arthritis, bacterial infections and other inflammatory diseases (rheumatic fever).

CRP – Direct Latex reagent test :
For the determination of C-Reactive protein in serum samples.
Sensitivity: 6 mg/L

Qualitative or semi-quantitative method. C-reactive protein is a globulin, which increases in inflammatory processes, in the acute phase of various diseases and after surgical operations. CRP Latex reagent is a suspension of polystyrene particles sensitized with anti-human CRP protein. When the reagent is mixed with a serum sample containing C-Reactive protein an antigen-antibody reaction takes place and is proved by latex agglutination.

The kit is intended for professional use.

RF – Direct Latex reagent test :
For the determination of rheumatoïd factor in serum samples.
Sensitivity: 8 IU/ml

Qualitative or semi-quantitative method.
Rheumatoid Factor (RF) is a macroglobulin present in the serum of most patients suffering from progressive chronic osteoarthritis. RF agglutinates inert particles sensitized with human gamma-globulin

When the RF reagent is mixed with serum containing rheumatoid factor, an antigen-antibody reaction takes place and is clearly evidenced by latex agglutination.

The kits is intended for professional use.

ASO– Direct Latex reagent test :
Test for the determination of Anti-Streptolysin O in serum samples.
Sensitivity: 200 IU/ml

Qualitative or semi-quantitative method.
Anti-streptolysin "O" antibodies are produced in infections due to beta-hemolytic streptococci in reaction to the presence of streptolysin O (SLO) released by the bacteria.
Serum antibody level is a marker of the extent and degree of the infection.
ASO Latex reagent is a suspension of polystyrene particles sensitized with streptolysin O. When the reagent is mixed with serum containing anti-SLO antibodies, an antigen-antibody reaction takes place and is clearly proved by latex agglutination.

The kits is intended for professional use.

RF Waaler :
Haemagglutination test for the detection of rheumatoid factors in serum.

Patients suffering from rheumatoid arthritis and other rheumatoid disorders such as lupus erythematosus or Sjögren’s syndrome develop antibodies directed against IgG class immunoglobulins. These antibodies induce the agglutination of sheep red cells sensitized with rabbit IgG anti-sheep erythrocytes and thus can be detected visually with a naked eye.
